Studio Information        Code of Conduct

General Information

 

 

Tuition: Tuition amounts are paid in three (3) installments for the academic year on September 1 (to cover September to December), January 1 (to cover January to March), April 1 (to cover April to June).  When you sign up in September, you are required to pay one semester, i.e. four (4) months. For all other time periods, your payment is based on a trimester, i.e., three (3) months.  There is a $35 annual registration fee per family.  If you are willing to participate in performances, there is a $100 annual recital fee due at time of signing to cover costume rental and stage rental. There is a $25 charge for late tuition payment and a $15 fee for returned checks.

 

Ten-Class Pass:  Class cards are $225 and valid for four(4) months after issue date. Cards are non-refundable and non-transferable.  Cards can be used for any combination of classes.

 

Private classes:  Private classes are available at $450 per month (ballroom has different fee schedule).

 

Ballroom classes:  Fees for ballroom are $199 per 8-week series.  Series include eight (8) free classes and dance practice parties.

 

Gift Certificates:  Gift certificates are available in any dollar amount. They are valid for one (1) year and are non-refundable.

 

Birthday parties/events:  Arrangements for birthday parties or special events can be made for you.

 

Referral incentive:  You get one (1) month tuition free for every referral who enrolls in our studio for three (3) months or more.

 

Insurance:  Dansez! Dansez! does not carry medical insurance for its students.  You are required to be covered by your own family insurance policies. If injury occurs, it is understood that your own policy is the only source of reimbursement.

 

Late arrival:  Late arrival to class is discouraged as classes are structured to accommodate “warming up” the body properly.  If you arrive more than 10 minutes late, you will be asked to observe class rather than participate in it to avoid risk of physical injury to you.  There is no refund for unattended classes.

 

Inclement Weather:  Dansez! Dansez! follows the Montgomery County Public schools guidelines for weather and emergency closures.

 

Student Drop-off/Pick-up:  Students from ages 3 to 14 are expected to be escorted by parent/guardian to and from the studio.  This ensures the safety of your child.  Students must be picked up immediately after the conclusion of class. 

 

Class Observation:  Twice during the year, your family and friends are invited to observe classes.  Dates will be announced. 

 

Dress Code

Ballet:            black. pink, green, blue and white leotard (based on level), pink tights, and pink ballet slippers.  Boys wear black tights, white T-shirt, and black ballet slippers.

Jazz:             any color leotard. Jazz pants or jazz shorts. Jazz shoes.

Folklore:        any color leotard. Jazz pants.  Barefoot or ballet slippers.

Ballroom:       comfortable attire. Ballroom shoes.

Modern:        any color leotard.  Jazz pants or jazz shorts.  Barefoot.

Cardio:         any fitness attire.  Jazz shoes.

 

All classes:     hair must be off the face and tied back securely.  No street shoes are allowed in class.  Students must wear appropriate cover-up over dance clothes while coming to and going from the studio

 

Parking:  You may want to park in the St Elmo Avenue Garage located just across the street from the dance studio.  Parking in the St Elmo Ave Garage is free on Saturdays and Sundays.  There is also free parking available at Bethesda Elementary School  located just 3 minutes away from our dance studio, anytime after school hours starting at 3:30pm (always respect no parking notices posted occasionally).

 

Performance Opportunities:  Dansez! Dansez! provides you the opportunities to perform twice during the year.  If you chose to participate in any performance, there is a $100 fee per recital per year to cover costume rental and stage rental.  Those participating in more than one dance piece, please add $20 per costume.  Rehearsals and show times will be announced.

 

Summer Program:  Intensive classes, seminars, workshops, and local and international exchange programs are available to you during the summer if you wish to participate.

Summer Intensive: This seven-week long program offers you the opportunity to further explore your talent.  Three classes a day are offered to participants.  A course on Dance History is offered.  The program concludes with a performance.

We also provide summer programs in kindergarten, elementary, middle, and high schools.

Seminars: You will be able to participate in seminars to be held locally.  There is a great opportunity to learn about dancing and further explore your talent.

Workshops: Our studio offers workshops and master classes lead by nationally and internationally renowned professional dancers in order to motivate students to strive their best in the art.  We also provide workshops in kindergarten, elementary, middle, and high schools.

Day program and after-school program in Schools: We also offer day and after-school dance programs in kindergarten, elementary, middle, and high schools.  See our current list of enrolled schools.

Exchange programs: You may choose to travel to New York (ABT), Texas, Haiti (Ayikodans), Dominican Republic, San Juan, Canada, California, Chicago, to broaden your exposure to cultural diversity through dance.  We can arrange your participation through this program.
